GBBO’s Candice Brown makes London baking debut in Brick Lane

Great British Bake-Off winner Candice Brown made her London live baking debut in Brick Lane on Saturday.

The star, who was crowned the 2016 winner last month, was the highlight at the annual Christmas-themed Foodies Festival held in the Old Truman Brewery from 18th-20th November.

Speaking before her appearance, Ms Brown said: “I’m really looking forward to baking in the Cake and Bake Theatre at Foodies Festival. It’s so exciting to be asked to come along and do what I love most, and to be making my London debut so close to home.”

The Foodies Festival also featured demonstrations from other top chefs, including 2016 Masterchef winner Jane Devonshire, and activities such as wine tastings and cake decorating classes, as well as food and craft stalls from independent sellers.

Ava Maitland, Head of PR and Marketing for Foodies Festivals, said: “Old Truman Brewery has been used by us for several years now and is a great venue – very cool, current and unique in a real up-and-coming foodie hotspot in London, so we love it!”
